My Story

My Story

I started my sales career in a Ghanaian-based Swiss Digital Marketing Agency. I was so passionate about selling and growing my career and that was evident in how much I was out there trying to talk to as many clients as possible to get them signed on our services.

By then, I didn’t know that passion isn’t the same as sales skills; you can be extremely passionate about your business but if you don’t understand the art of sales, no one will buy your products/services and you will eventually lose out to the competition.

The first month came and I hit 0% of the target. I went even harder to talk to more people and have them buy into our services, yet at the end of the second month, my achievement was still at 0%. I was frustrated and felt maybe this isn’t for me; I thought I just wasn’t good enough; I thought our services were probably not needed; I was seen as unserious, lazy, and incompetent yet in my heart, I knew I really wanted to work hard and achieve my goals. I just wanted to give up on business, sales, and everything; I wanted to try for one last month, and guess what? I still achieved 0% in the third month.

At this point, even my passion had died down. I was hinted on a warning letter and I knew I was going to be fired sooner than later. IT WAS IN THAT MONTH THAT EVERYTHING CHANGED!!!

I chanced on a sales article which changed my perspective on sales. I realized that I had the passion and really wanted to work hard but I didn’t understand the “Art of Sales”, why and how people buy, negotiation, prospecting and all the relevant things I should have known. From that moment, I read and watched anything I could find on sales…and guess what, I MADE MY FIRST SALE IN THE FOURTH MONTH.

Since then I kept selling like crazy; in 9 months, I became a top seller in the department and in 14 months, I was promoted to Head the entire department. From that time, I have made it my life mandate to teach these skills to salespeople, entrepreneurs, start-ups, business executives and even CEOs. I know how frustrating and depressing it is to give all to your business and still have little or no sales.
